Hello Everyone

I ‘m so thrilled you found me here.  I want you to know just a little more about my background and the events and training that led me to opening Sweet Lassteen’s Desserts for All Occasions.  Sweet Lassteen has been the culmination of all the things that I have learned over the past 30 years.

I have been baking since I was eight years old. I always had a desire to bake.  As a child, I would watch my Grandmother cook and bake for a Doctor in Alabama.  My Mom bought me a cookbook at age eight and I was good to go. It really was a picture cookbook and I still have that book. It is one of my treasures. I got into decorative baking in my 50s. I gave my Mom her 75th Birthday party and I wanted to decorate her cake.  I took a few classes and the rest is history. I am a retired school teacher, a health consultant, and the proud owner of Sweet Lassteen’s Desserts for All Occasions.

I have a bachelor’s and master’s in Early Childhood Education. I also have a Master’s in Educational Administration. I am a Statewide Accreditation Mentor for the State of Illinois and an Illinois Network Trainer Appraiser. I mentor daycare sites to obtain their National Accreditation and as Illinois Network Appraiser I assess workshop providers.

I started Sweet Lassteen’s Desserts for All Occasions approximately 2 ½ years ago. I was a Certified Wilton Instructor teaching cake decorating at the Michaels Crafts stores. While teaching at Michael’s, I went to the Wilton’s School of Confectionary Arts and took their master’s Course in Cake Decoration. I also specialized in Fondant and Gum Paste.  With my family and student’s encouragement I decided to open Sweet Lassteen’s Desserts for All Occasions a home-based business out of my home, when Michael decided to no longer have their educational program on cake decorating.

One of my reams was to be able to teach and help people to succeed.  I am so proud of my students that have gone on to be very successful entrepreneurs. Sweet Lassteen has afforded me the opportunity to teach, give workshops, help others, and sell my products. Baking is a hobby that I turned into a business
